MW - Machine-washable garments that are tumble dry safe too.
Our MW wool can be lanolized and is absorbent and effective as a cloth diaper cover.
Made of 100% merino wool. Super soft, squishy and cozy.
All of our garments are made from clean and safe wool.
Oeko-Tex certified and Woolmark licensed; Deemed free of harmful substances according to global standards as determined by the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology.
Handwash in warm/tepid water with wool wash OR machine wash on wool-cycle (different from delicate cycle!). Articles designated MW can be machine washed on wool-cycle or delicate cycle (turned inside out).
No bleach or whiteners. Remove excess water by pressing in a towel or spin cycle (only) in washing machine. The spin cycle in a machine will reduce drying time.
Lay flat to air dry. Articles designated MW can be tumbled dry on low heat (some shrinkage will occur, mostly shortening, the first couple of dries-much like a new cotton garment).
Lanolize as desired to increase moisture and odor control.
In general the leggings designated "MW/less compact" in this listing feature a less compact knit. The result is that these garments are stretchier but will need more frequent shaving in the beginning of their life. Not all MW has the less compact knit.
**Read more about our first batch of MW garments here (care and special handling of new garments). Note that this information is specific to the 2016 release of MW wool and has nothing to do with the fact that it is MW but rather the knitting parameters that were used on this batch.
* Yooki garments are sent unwashed (straight from the knitting machine). It is normal for the knits to plump up and lose a small amount of size after the first washing (mostly in length). They will also feel even more plush and soft after a wash or two.
* Pilling/fuzzies are normal with new wool knits. With wear, the new wool will shed its loose fibers and result in a fuzzy look in areas with the most friction (knees & bum). The new look of knits can easily be restored with a fabric shaver. The shedding will slow significantly after two to three shaves.
