Content:

Made of 100% merino wool. Super soft, squishy and cozy.

All of our garments are made from clean and safe wool:

Oeko-Tex certified -Deemed free of harmful substances according to global standards as determined by the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology.

Care:

Hand wash in warm/tepid water. All of our wool can also be safely washed on wool-cycle (different from delicate cycle).

For variants designated "MW" you can safely machine-wash on wool cycle AND tumble dry on low heat (see variant notes below). Some shrinkage will occur the first couple of times you tumble dry (similar to a cotton garment). If your dryer is hot on low setting use caution. The MW woolies won't felt but the hotter the dryer the more shrinkage.

Use gentle wool-safe detergent. No bleach or whiteners. Wash with similar colors. Proceed to lanolizing or lay flat to air dry (tumble dry low is optional for MW garments).

If hand washing; remove excess water by pressing in a towel 1-2 times or run a spin cycle (spin only) in washing machine (spin cycle significantly reduces drying time). Lay flat to air dry.

Lanolize as desired to increase moisture & odor control.

General Information:

Yooki garments are sent unwashed (straight from the knitting machine). It is normal for the knits to plump up and lose a small amount of size (mostly length) after the first washing. They will also feel even more plush and soft after a wash or two.

Machine-washable variants plump up less than our standard wool leggings. The result is that the sizing will not reduce as much after washing and the wool will not become as compact after a few washes (this can increase the propensity for snags, especially when the wool is new and still shedding/fuzzy). You can increase the compactness of the knit and reduce the sizing slightly (if you like them a tiny bit more snug) by tumbling dry on low to medium/low heat without losing any stretch (this will not felt them but we recommend doing it only once or twice since we have not tested beyond that). See photos here. Again, we do recommend doing this at least once if you like for the knit to feel a little more compact or if you like the fit to be a bit more slim.

Pilling/fuzzies are normal with new wool knits. With wear, the new wool will shed its loose fibers and result in a fuzzy look in areas with the most friction (knees & bum). The new look of knits can easily be restored with a fabric shaver. The shedding will slow significantly after two to three shaves.

A Word of CAUTION/DISCLAIMER regarding multi-colored knits:

We at Yooki have performed our own testing for color fastness of our multi-colored knits prior to selling and have experienced NO issues with color-bleed when washing as suggested (above). Note that everyone has a different water table and for whatever reason certain water types may cause particular dye colors to bleed. For this reason, we cannot be responsible for the results due to each customer's unique water properties.

If you suspect your water is prone to color-bleeding issues or if you are unsure, test out soaking the garment on a small area before submerging the entire garment. We also recommend reducing the water temperature and soak time if you are unsure or worried. Using color-catching sheets during washing/soaking can also help reduce color-bleeding issues and there are also some other unproven tricks like adding a bit of vinegar to the wash water, however, we cannot officially advise on this procedure since we have not tested it.
